3.11 We examine two types of communication. In the first type, agents can communicate independently of their spatial location. We examine three cases: (1) every agent can communicate with every other agent (all-to-all topology); (2) every agent can communicate with a single, special, agent which then relays the information to the other agents (star topology); (3) the agents form a "ring" and each agent communicates with its two adjacent agents (ring topology).
